This pin was originally bought in September last year and has sat patiently waiting to be restored since. Sadly Medusa has seen better days and will need a lot of work to get her back to her former glory.

The Good

The machine seems complete minus the MPU.
Playfield looks to be in fairly good condition, apart from an area above the left flipper where someone has attempted to cut out the mylar with a Stanley knife.
The pin was bought for only £350.

The Bad

Backbox and cabinet particle board panels will need replacing due to water damage.
Translite image has started to lift from glass. Coin door has been prised open.
Lots of rust throughout machine.
Missing original flippers
Missing original pop bumper caps.

Made a start removing the bulb sockets and wiring today.

Next job is filling sanding and painting.

Recapped the Solenoid and sound board.

I’ll test the boards once the backbox is complete.

Filled, sanded and primed.

Another round of filling and sanding and then it’s time to paint.

Backbox is coming along nicely.

Vents have been hand cut for now, but will be gone over with a machine drill to tidy up imperfections.

The bottom was so badly rotten I had to replaced that piece also.

Managed to find the perfect replacement for those old rusty 555 bulb solder tabs.

Cost £4 for 100 new tabs.

Do you have a link to where you got those tabs?

Here you go Steve 👍🏻

I wish I found these earlier, it really would of helped speed up rewiring the first pin I had.

See you also got a paragon - is that to be given the treatment soon, or is it all up and running - my favourate game!
I can see why it's your favourite - it's visually stunning and the gameplay is very challenging. I'm pretty sure it will be my favourite too once I have it up and running ;)

I fully intend to give this one the full treatment once I've finished the pin room.

I'm very tempted by the new CPR Paragon playfield that's been released - Thankfully It's not available yet, I don't think my bank balance can take anymore!

didn't someone a few years back restore one with a waterslide transfer to the worn out playfield area?
