Sold Bally Gilligan's Island Pinball £1,500

Bally Gilligan's Island for Sale

The good
It's a Bally Wiliams, I've added some LED's, new plunger rod since the earlier pictures, reasonably well polished lockdown bar, new rubbers. Took the playfield out, and vaccumed out the cabinet.
Coin door OK, I've touched up the front artwork so in a line-up it would look fine. Stainless legs, OK condition. All the ramps are good and I don't think there is any cracking. Cabinet solid without any nasty rot. New coin door lock. New flipper bats. Apron nice and clean, lower subway ramp clean.

The so-so & bad
I'm sure there's still a ramp/island issue. I don't think the island locks as it should, although I know the motor is fine and that works. Faded side art (normal), bleached out translite (pretty common), playfield wear, with some lines on the art but nothing that makes any difference to the way it plays. Some ghosting on inserts, a few broken plastics. DMD probably gassing out. Some of the connectors in the head are a bit tired, but there's nothing there causing any problems. Glass ancient and marked tired but unchipped at least!

So if you don't mind some niggles and want a machine to do some jobs on it's ideal as I'm not after stupid money. Starting at £1,800 and I'll reduce by £50 every week until it hits the bottom end price I have for it.
I'm over capacity by 1 or 2 and I don't want to have to break up a complete machine.

Great price and great little project pin.
I Honestly can’t see it lasting long and if it does then WTF do I know maybe the tide is turning 😳

I would say the tide is turning, maybe the TZ's that came up for sale are indicative of some owners of the higher end machines bailing while they can. As I said I doubt we'll ever get back to prices from 20 years ago, if we do though, happy-days! I'll break up this keep it for parts and buy and Addams, a Scared Stiff to help me complete mine and a Zone at £1,000!
With the Gilligan's, I don't have to sell or or need the space, just the space would be handy as I bought myself another project car last week......
 
Great starter pin for someone, just a heads up the yellow angled rubber by the center VUK is on upside-down, might cause airballs that way round and would hate for that to break a plastic something.

Good luck with the sale dude, playfield looks lovely 😁

Ah yeah, I'll try to remember to rotate that the correct way up. The playfield isn't great, but nothing on it effecting ball travel. Ta.
 
They either have other calls on their money now or think pins have got overpriced for what they are.
 
I genuinely can't believe this is still here, esp at such a great price.
Not only is Gilligans a great fun pin, but it lends its self to some great mod'ing and also where I learnt all about pins - tinkering, rules, etc.
Believe it or not, Gilligan has been in my collection to longest.

Is that actual fog coming out the top hehe? Or lighting effect.

I can only think it’s the theme - surely any other Bally Williams DMD at 1600 would be long gone 🤷‍♀️ Gilligans pretty much an unknown show in the UK .

Keep looking at this one every time it pops up, I like the theme, seems like it would be a good game for getting family members interested or if you have casuals over.
Think a lot of people have one of the new releases on order, if I didn't have PF coming would probably have snapped it up.

Was looking at videos of Gilligan's the other day, TNT had a video where they recommended spraying the underside of the spinning thing black, apparently light can upset the opto and a bit of black spray paint cures the issue.

Yeah, I did that on the GI I had before this one, I can't remember if I did it on this one or not.
I don't want to part it out but it may happen...

Surely eBay is worth a go before parting out . A Gottlieb Big Hurt (imo a less desirable title) is about to finish on there and it’s been bid to 1600 currently.
 
a lot of games get NO love here so eBay / FB is the way to go. most gottlieb , anything rare or older than 1980 . most games where theme punches a game above its playability - star wars , dr who , simpsons , harley d etc etc
