bally 32 sound board 2716 eprom replacement query

when I use my gq-4x to burn bally sound proms to a 2716 eprom,they do not verify in romident if I read them after burning,but the prom file from ipdb does verify in romident before burning? is this normal?,or does something need doing to the prom file before it's burn't to eprom?

just to update this,even though the sound prom won't verify in romident when burned to a 2716 eprom,it does work fine with an adapter in the prom socket,tried it in my star trek and lost world and all's good
