Hi all,

Does anyone have a suggestion for a decent brand of pinball for a Theatre of Magic? The balls I'm using currently are getting magnetized really quickly and are ending up sticking in the ball trough.

Thanks in advance

We recommend Polaris for games with magnets

I had exactly the same problem using Ninja balls in my TOM. As David said above I swapped out for Polaris and it solved the problem

For games where the magnet stops a ball at speed, for example, in my JJP GnR, where the magnet stops the ball as it hurtles round the loop, do low iron balls cause a different issue if the game can't grab them?

No, they’re not really “low iron”, it’s the carbon and chromium levels that vary

Here’s an incredibly detailed article by @Nick about the differences from a scientific perspective https://mayapinball.com/pages/pinball-metallurgy

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll grab myself some Polaris balls 👍 Cheers!
