Just got my hands on a shabby EBD and wanting to do a restoration rather than a refurb.
so, starting with the missing bits ...
Looking for a clean, preferably working pcb.

Appreciate you might want to keep it original but all those boards are really getting old and creaky now. I would personally just go with an all singing all dancing Alltek replacement.

The issue seems to be that most repair folk don't properly neutralise the battery damage before rebuilding the boards. If this is done, and the sockets are changed - the boards are excellent. Plus I know its weird, but I love having the games playing on their original boards......Using an Altek always makes the game seem not 'proper'!

I could easily have been swayed either way, but the planets aligned and the gods smiled in the form of a really nice condition, right year, right chipset one on ebay.
Just got to wait and see what actually turns up!
