Hey group
I'm after a bit of advice on this really as well as a sale, if that's even an option once you hear the spec!!!

I have a 10 year old Mac mini, running OSX Tiger!
80gb hdd 512 mb ram!!

Probably know the answer to this. Eg, its a worthless paper weight?

Old IT stuff hey!!

It comes with an apple flat monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse. Original box and instructions.

I dunno, is it of use to anyone? If so what's it worth. Any salvageable parts from the monitor or computer?

It's been in my loft for about 3 years. Just fired it up today and works fine.

Not sure how to format the HDD so I've just manually deleted everything and emptied the trash!!

Any advice gratefully received. I know a lot of you guys are computer savvy and will give me honest feedback
I'll even throw in the action man mouse mat ;)

Cheers

Oh yeah, just seen it's a G4

The monitor used to belong to Peter Cochrane. If you know yer IT bods, you might have heard of him. He's a futurologist and bonafide Mac Master, often on the gadget show forecasting the next big thing!! He's a friend of the family, hence why I have it.

As for price??? I really haven't a clue. I'd rather sell the lot as a bundle. Not really interested in splitting it.

Hoping people will chime in with valuations

The issue is that the G4 hasn't been supported since leopard and it wont run almost all modern software, unless you do a curve ball and run linux.

I'd say 50/60 quid tops for everything, but equally I could be wrong and it's worth 100 or 20 quid.

Ha ha. It's gotta be worth £100k now surely.

No, just so you don't think I nicked it ;)

£50/£60 sounds ok to me ABAXAS. Unless anyone else says it's worth £20 or £100

LOL. Now I'm interested in the story surrounding how you came to be in possession of it. Friend of the family you say? I think I'd go so far as to ask him to sellotape a lock of hair onto it

I had a search on eBay for sold "g4 mac mini 512mb 80gb" and the going rate for just unit itself seems to be in the region of £30-40 but sometimes as low as £15 and sometimes as high as £60 or £70. But yours also has keyboard, monitor and mouse.

The Wireless Mighty Mouse (A1197?) would net you about a tenner on eBay and the Studio Display Monitor (if it's model M4451 or similar) might get you £20-25.

@abaxas's estimate of £50-60 therefore seems about right to me.
