Any reason NOT to remove mylar

My TZ has got a piece of Mylar fitted in front of the slot machine, and its a bit grubby, especially around the edges. I am confident I can remove the mylar without lifting any paint, so it would look much better with the mylar removed.

So my question is really this: is mylar at all necesary even in relatively high wear areas on a home use machine? I can see why it would have been factory fitted before going out on location, but is there any point in trying to clean the mylar up rather than just remove it?

Any advice welcome...

Don't just pull it off,you risk lacquer and paint damage to pf,use freeze spray to lift it

as far as i was aware, Mylar shouldn't be needed on machines that are used in the home.... however if you are worried i think Andy @pinballmania sells Mylar....

And thanks for the advice Pudsey. I'll definately be using the freeze spray approach. It's always worked for me it he past (although it's always squeaky bum time when it actually comes to lifting it!)

EDIT: Mylar all gone but my head is a bit woozy from breathing in the foul adhesive remover fumes...
