Hi all,
New machine incoming so time to make some space, and thought I'd see if anyone on here was interested before it goes to eBay. This isn't a QC machine, but it's a great player and an ideal candidate for a full restore. Here's the good and the bad:
Good:
No errors on start up.
DMD strong
Flippers strong, plays very fast.
Beautiful cabinet with custom red legs to match.
Both Bill Ung UFO kits installed.
Pinbits Blackout Mod and AFM Enhanced Strobe Tube Assembly installed - perfect for Strobe MB.
Bad:
No major wear to PF but some of the inserts have seen better days.
Some bulbs out in backbox, and some of the clips that keep the bulbs in place are broken.
The main saucer probably needs replacing - a couple of the LEDs are out.
The left LED strip of the second Bill Ung kit strip in the saucer area has an LED out, and needs to be stuck back against the metal.
The only other thing I feel I should mention is up until recently it was occasionally rebooting mid game. Andy (Pinball Mania) recently fixed this issue by replacing a part - can't for the lift of me remember what it was though! Many games have been played since without a single reset, but the honest part of me feels like I should make any potential buyers aware. As of writing this is no longer an issue.
The combination of the two Bill Ung kits and the blackout mod/enhanced strobe tube assembly means that literally every light on the machine dies for Strobe MB, and the strobe runs perfectly. It's stunning in a dark room. I've played several AFMs and I can honestly say that I haven't played a better Strobe MB.
I've uploaded some pics here:
If your interested please get in touch at guytimmis@gmail.com - I'm more than happy to take more pics by request, but the machine is at my Dad's place so it might take me a couple of days to get around there.
Asking £3500 OBO.
As an aside we're considering also selling our MB, which is a stunning example. We'd be asking £4.5k for that, or may be willing to sell both AFM and MB for £7500 to a single buyer. Not certain that MB is leaving yet, but please do let me know if you may be interested in both.
Cheers
Guy
EDIT: Forgot to mention that the machine is located in North London - about 10-15 mins from J2 of the M1.
