I'm thinking of fitting leds to my Addams and was wondering if it was worth upgrading to super brights? :hmm:

I'd say no in TAF, they don't look right. TAF looks better with dimmer non-non (cheaper) Ghosting LEDs and an LED OCD board to smooth the harsh on/off behaviour.

All my opinion, others may disagree.

I added LED flashers too, but they were far too bright in the two clear-domed flashers closest to the player (left and right).

I've just watched the comparison videos with and without the ocd board,i can see what you mean with the way leds behave without the board but the added expense means thats something for future;)

Yeah, each to their own. No harm in just using bulbs - very cheap and they turn on & off properly!
I love the richness of colour-matched LEDs through playfield inserts & their low heat/power traits, but i hate their blinky digital behaviour.
Plus, if you used LEDs in the GI & backbox you'd also lose some nice GI fade effects games like TAF and TZ utilise. Of course, there's a GI OCD board for that too.

Ok so i have ordered my ocd board from the states, now for the leds.
Where's the best place to get a complete playfield kit from ?

Where did you order the OCD board from? I've thought about trying one out but didn't think they shipped to the UK.

Last time I checked they only had the Stern ones on their website and I'm more interested in WMS. Guess I could always ask Arthur if he could sort one out for me.

The sets might not be what you want. Maybe do an audit of the LEDs you need, including any flashers, and the socket type, then order them individually. Use the lamp matrix grid in the manual if you're stuck for time. The GREED lamps, as an example, could be customised to your liking. I used Purple, but i've seen warm white (original looking), pinks, green, yellows, etc. The 2 closest white flashers can be too much as LEDs, especially upwards firing. the 3 top of the backbox flashers look ace using these flashers for 906 sockets:

These 2 flasher options for 89 sockets (more LEDs isn't always better):

these 2 typed of bulbs for the wide selection of colours with frosted domes, and they're NOT non-ghosting, which works against your LED OCD board.

If you change you GI lighting to LED then you'll lose some of the cool dimming effects during multiball start up.
