A rare occurrence

Had my insurance renewal quote for the van through today and it works out £30 cheaper than last year, despite having made a claim for a broken rear window.
Never had that happen before, pleasant surprise for a Monday morning.

Similar for me with esure, mine came down from £350 to £255.

For my two classics the annual insurance went from £1350 to £850, no changes in circumstances.

House insurance also decreased, again no change in circumstance.

Everything seems to be getting cheaper

My gas/elec is fixed until August '23, lets see how much that comes down by.....

Less cars on the road due to home working = less claims? Or something more complex that I have no clue on!

Must be a NE thing but both my car and classic insurance were higher until I went compare the meerkat and I saved around 150 going from 380 to 230
Same deal with my House insurance via go compare as they pay the 250 excess in the event of a claim and I almost saved 200 too taking it from 350 to 150

New legislation that renewals have to be same as quotes for new business. So basically you’ve all been paying however much it’s been reduced by this year, extra for the last few years…..

My insurance is going the other direction lately, house insurance very slightly up (although its still cheap), but a shop insurance up massively because they f***d up and missed putting it was a listed building last time.

My RAC breakdown cover has gone up, thought that may have come down similar to my car insurance.
