A few issues with a few pins (early 80s)

Hey guys!

I have a few pins here that have different issues, some are probably easy to solve, some not so much!

I have to apologize for the massive post in advance!!

First off I have a Firepower which is very temperamental. I turned it on today and it just did nothing. All the lights came on and the displays lit up with numbers but very little else happened. Then I turned it off, went back to it and then it worked for a bit. Strange but thought nothing of it. Then I swapped the power driver board (I will explain in a bit) and all of a sudden the solenoids were stuck on as I turned it on (not sure if all of them were on or just a few, it kicked out a ball everytime anyway). Thought that board was broken so swapped it back and now it happens every time I press a button or coin up. Could I have swapped a cable by accident? Or maybe a cold solder joint? This cab was obviously left in a shed or something as the backboard wood is very swollen.

Next I have a Gorgar which worked fine for ages but today just decided not to turn on! Same as firepower, just the lamps came on and the displays. I swapped the main power board, that was fine. The power driver board too from firepower, no change. Is this therefore going to be a mpu issue or what can I check next?

Next up I have a Xenon which works ok but then I smelled burning plastic. Couldn't for the life of me figure this one out then I noticed a small flame on the lamp driver board. Turns out pin 1 of J4 had melted and that cable goes to the power module at the bottom of the cab. The small resistor on there has continuity on either side.. is that right? What could be at fault there?

Lastly I have a original Star Trek which does work ok but the right flipper literally stopped working while playing. I pulled the play field up and took a look to see if there was a loose cable but it seemed fine. all of a sudden it started working again, but I have a feeling the issue will come back. The right slingshot also doesn't work in game but does in the solenoid test. The leaf switches are ok however. The right and left inlane switches also don't work and the drop target furthest right does drop but doesn't register when hit. Might it be the MPU? The battery did leak at some point and I'm not sure if there are any traces near there related to these switches. They do seem to share some same coloured wiring like white with black and white with blue.

So all in all this was a confusing day! I'm slowly trying to learn about pinballs but these older cabs seem way more complicated than modern pins! I would seriously appreciate any help you can give on these!!

I'm not there again until Saturday and don't have internet access when I'm there.
