8bit Flip – Tournaments Update

Our additional tournaments at 8bitflip are now fully confirmed and ready to roll. Each costs just £3 to enter and qualifies for WPPR points and towards your overall position at 8bitflip in the UK Championship Series.

Full details of the format of each round can be found on our website at www.8bitflip.co.uk/competitions

The Old Flip

Running on Sunday 5th April.

This is your chance to test your flipping skills against a variety of games from yesteryear (for which read anything pre DMD)

Qualifying will take place between 10am and 1pm on Sunday on your selection of five out of the ten available classic machines. Your overall performance across the five games will determine if you are one of the sixteen players to go through and compete in the later group and head-to-head rounds to become The Old Flipper 2015

There’s a maximum of 64 places available, and you can pre-register for The Old Flip to guarantee your place (advance payment not required) on our website or by sending an email with your name to TheOldFlip@aol.co.uk

The Pinball News PinGolf Tournament

Commencing on Saturday 4th April and completing on Sunday 5th April

Play the 9-hole course with a range of objectives which are fun to play but tricky to master.

Each of the nine machines (holes) challenges you to either complete a feature or beat a certain score using the fewest balls (shots) possible. Reach the target on your first ball and you score a hole-in-one, and win a prize!

When you have completed the course, hand in your score card and check your place on the leader board. Will you make the cut and reach the final?

The four players with the lowest total scores across all nine holes go into the sudden-death four-way final round.

Starting back at the first hole, any of the four who completes the objective in fewer shots than the others is declared the winner. Anyone who takes more shots than the others is automatically eliminated. If there is a tie for any of the places, the remaining players move on to the second hole to play again, and so on until all four places are decided.

Entry to the Pinball News PinGolf Tournament is just £3 for all nine holes. Play starts Saturday afternoon and continues Sunday morning, with the final on Sunday afternoon.

So, purchase your score card at the competition desk, put on your plus fours, and get ready to tee-off.
