2nd Annual Essex Friendly Meet (Featuring another crappy competition) Hosted at my flat in South Woodham Ferrers, Chelmsford, Essex (IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO COME PLEASE PM ME FOR MY ADDRESS)

Sunday 12th January 2020 at 12pm

Same setup as last year for those that came, this is a friendly meetup for pinballers based in and around Essex. You're welcome from 12pm to chat and catch up with friends and we will start the competition from 1pm. I must express that this is not a serious competition so don't expect to win WPPR points or anything... You will however get a beautiful certificate if you do win 😂

I'll provide a few drinks and snacks but you're welcome to bring beers or whatever you fancy

I'm in! It's the last day of my two weeks off work, and working late the next day so perfect!

I've been hoping to meet and talk to pinball folk IRL, learn a few things. Seems a good opportunity as its something small [emoji16]

Thanks mate :) Pretty happy with my collection of weirder games at the moment. The Road Race is tombstoned in my hallway and torments me every time I walk past it. Had 2 problems that I just couldn't wrap my head around... Will continue with it one day. It was getting very frustrating as the playfield and mechs look beautiful but I just couldn't get it reliably running for pinfest sadly

I've separated the 2 machines that were together in the pinball room (before the whole flat turned into a pinball room) so there's space between them now... Somehow makes a lot more space in that room - which should save us all bunching in the door like last time 😂
 
Just over a week to go guys and gals. Thanks to Davey for sending me a link to some tournament software our competition this year should be a lot more structured and a lot less crappy 😂 If anybody else would like to join us please PM me and I'll give you my address
 
Players failing to heckle at key moments in opponents games will be deducted points.

@Neil McRae i know James likes to keep it crappy but how difficult is it to register the tourney for ifpa?

Dude I'm keeping it crappy for now, maybe one day but I can't be ****d with the points and all that. I'm happy keeping it more of a social than a comp
 
I am looking forward to it! It'll be my first time meeting folks in the pinball community... Usually I'm quite anti social (sometimes out of choice, other times because... It's hard!)
So in a way forcing myself into this situation is a good thing!

I will have the other half with me, she's ok [emoji23]

Good for you, we can awkwardly stutter and stumble over simple sentences together.

You'll be fine, I hate the human race and socialising as well but we are a good bunch of guys :) plus for the most part (Besides Tim) we all suck at pinball so there's no pressure to be a good player lol
