Hi guys. I am trying to restore to working order a 1954 Williams Smoke Signal Pin. It is quite a pretty machine with "Art Deco" sloping legs etc and seems to be an interesting game. It is a real oddity to me. The mains transformer is located in the back box and has no markings whatsoever on it. The schematic suggests it should be a 679B or 6798 (tiny writing). My concern is that it is a 110Volt transformer so connecting to 240volts, there will be a new "Big Bang" in Bexhill. Has anyone have any information on this machine / Transformer?. I assume the Secondaries are the usual 6.3Volts and 24~28volts??

Any advice appreciated

can you disconnect everything off the output and measure the voltages. it they’re double what you expect then it’s 110v

If you cannot identify the transformer then I'd buy a step-down transformer, rather than plugging it straight into the mains so as to save the original from damage. A lot of 1950s Williams ran at 50v on the solenoids so be careful.
