Registration at https://www.thepinballoffice.co.uk/book-online opens midday on Sunday 14th December.

The Pinball Office is turning four years old and to celebrate we are running our traditional annual tournament on Sunday 25th January.

Registration will be £20 for children (14 and under) and £25 for adults. Parking is an additional £3 per car if you wish to park on site.

Doors open at 9:30 for practice, with the qualifying starting at 10:30. Based on previous events, we expect the qualifying to finish around 17:30 after which we will move directly to the finals.

We will take a short break for lunch but there will not be time to go out to purchase food - PLEASE BRING A PACKED LUNCH.

This year we will be running a Max Matchplay format for qualifying, which means that everyone plays everyone else once during the day in a two player head-to-head game, scoring a point for a win. Ties are determined by the results of the head-to-head games played by the tied players (in the event of a tie remaining between a subset or subsets of these players, a full single game will be played between each of the subsets of tied players on a random machine with random player order to break the tie).

The final will be three rounds of single elimination Matchplay for the top 10 qualifiers, with the top 6 receiving a bye to the second round. Each round will be 3 four player games. The top seed picks all three games at the start of the round (or can defer to the next seed and pick their playing position instead), remaining seeds pick playing positions in order. Player positions are the same across all three games. Games score 4/2/1/0 - top 2 players advance to the next round. The same game may not be picked more than once by any player across the entire finals. The order in which the three games are played in any round may be chosen at the tournament director’s discretion to facilitate smooth running of the finals.

We will have trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and, new for 2026, 4th place thanks to the tireless work of the Campaign For Fourth Place Trophies - CFFPT.

Max Matchplay is a fast format with very little waiting between rounds but practice will be allowed between rounds when time permits (please be respectful of competition games in progress). When your next competition game becomes available you will be expected to let your practice ball drain and continue with the competition to keep things moving.

Anyone remaining in the finals is not allowed to practice at any point during the finals (in particular, but not limited to, top 6 finalists being not allowed to practice whilst the first round of finals for positions 7-10 is taking place).
