@Hiltoncriss has kindly agreed to make The Pinball Office available for George (@Slythiel ) to run a sponsored event - I will let him explain...
From George:
I am raising sponsorship money for what I genuinely believe to be a great cause: the development of a primary school in Zimbabwe, Africa. As part of a trip that I am going on in summer to Zimbabwe and Botswana, we are trying to raise money to go towards the Bunina primary school which is located about 45kms from Gweru in the Zimbabwe midlands. It is a super important part of the community with many kids walking miles to get to school every day and the growing number of people going now means that it desperately needs more space. Due to this, my school as a whole is trying to raise £52,000 to help them continue to build and as a small piece of this puzzle I’m aiming to raise £1000. Every penny from registration fees for this tournament, sponsorship on my just giving (https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/george-bennett-1) and any other money donated goes straight to the school’s efforts. If you can come, give a little money towards my running of a 10km or support by sponsoring a trophy I’d really appreciate it, but more importantly, the 90 students a new classroom block will cater for will appreciate it even more.

The event is capped at 24 participants.
Doors open at 15:00 after the regular Sunday club session ends, with the tournament starting at 15:45.
We will be playing 14 holes of IFPA Certified PinGolf. Participants will be allocated into pairs to play the course by the TD with the intention being that all participants are ordered by their IFPA ranking and that seed #1 and seed #13 play together, with seed #2 and seed #14 being a pair down to seed #12 and seed #24. Any family members/couples pairings will be reallocated. Other changes to pairings may also be made at the TD’s sole discretion.
Each “hole” has a target score displayed on the machine which the participants are aiming to reach during their three ball game. If the target is reached during ball one, this is a “hole in one” and one stroke is counted. If the target is reached during ball two, this is a “birdie” - counting two strokes - and if it is reached during ball three it is a “par” for three strokes. If the third ball drains before the target score is reached a set of other scores displayed on the machine will assign the number of “strokes” as 4,5,6,7 or 8.
Each pair will add a third player on each hole and play split flipper for this player - recording these scores in a separate leader board (no WPPR points for this competition, just for fun, bragging rights a trophy for the winning pair).
Based on past experience we would expect the qualifying stage to be complete around 18:30.
At the end of the 14 holes, the top 8 participants will progress to the final which will consist of a semi-final round of two groups of four and then a final round of four consisting of the top two participants from each semi-final. Each round will be played over 3 holes, using the same PinGolf scoring as earlier with the holes from the original course picked by the top seed (who may defer). Holes may not be repicked by the same participant across the two rounds.
We would anticipate that the full finals stage will take roughly 2-2.5 hours.
Any tiebreaks from qualifying or during the finals will be resolved with random additional holes from the original course.
We will have trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and 4th place for the singles format and a special trophy for the best scoring split flipper doubles team.
