ToM - T nut or not?

My old ToM has a t nut in the playfield near the trunk. The t nut area on my restored playfield was rebuilt because of a mahoosive hole and now I have the option of smacking a t nut into my clearcoated playfield or not.

Question: do you need the t nut - I thought a Williams technical bulletin advised retrofit to avoid ball hang ups? Advice?
