Switching to LEDs

Hello All,

Starting to learn the basics of a pin, enjoying it. Have a Street Fighter which I want to swap the bulbs out in the backboard for LEDs. Noob question, is it simply a case of buying the correct LEDs and inserting them? If so, what type of LEDs would be recommended?
