My kid really taken by STTNG. Loves firing the gun and watching the balls whiz around. He loves the music too. However all this play and the gun trigger is now getting more difficult for him to pull in/fire. Someone must have stripped this gun. What part do I need to replace to make the trigger more sensitive again!

The spring is quite stiff itself, so your problem may lie elsewhere. If the spring has disintegrated then it may be fouling the mechanism. The handle is easy to dismount and disassemble so take it off and have a look. If you want it light then a new spring might not be necessary.

It's much the same as the 'specially designed' gun handle on Terminator 2, which also suffered broken springs. At the time there was a service bulletin about it, which recommended adding a tubular collar over a new spring, to limit the compression that was applied when squeezing the trigger.

The gun handle does need to be detached from the cabinet, you needn't (actually you couldn't) separate the two halves just undoing the fasteners visible outside. The four screws at the base of the handle reach through the cabinet and have nuts/washers wound-on inside. The bolts are a 'Tx' (tamper-resistant Torx) size, either 25 or 30 AIR. With the handle removed, the firing pin mechanism is contained in a circular insert on the concealed surface, secured with a couple of Pozidrive screws.
