Stern PinLed vs stern led dmd

so, the underwater mustang is now fully working but the dmd is as usual full of vertical lines. No problem, I thought, I'll chuck in the display I had in spidey.

blows F9 on the cpu board whereas the stern one doesn't (both official stern but the replacement is the pinLED big block one and the mustang is the stern made small block one).

Is there a difference in current draw?

Bummed. I have a perfectly good dmd and I can't use it!

Maybe a bit but shouldn't take the fuse out as is same board set have you got a later stern one you could try or I have a later stern one you could try
