Not necessarily to replace them mate. Just reseat then several times. Have you another game you can nick a cable from?

I have a RG, I think anything on that will be in worse condition. I’ll reseat both ends multiple times. Is it good contact I’m trying to establish? I was wondering if the ribbon cable was internally damaged.
They will be different anyway I expect mate.
Unlikely to be the ribbon cable itself. Reseating the cable is to clean oxidisation off the connector pins, a potential cause of incorrect signal causing flashers to lock on. It may or may not fix the issue but worth doing to rule it out as a cause before sending the board away for repair.
