Powder Coating ?

R

robertlucas1970

Does anybody on here offer this or can give any link on where I can get this done.
Would like to get the legs, side rails and hinges done a nice deep red on Sopranos.
Many Thanks

Yeah I've had quite a bit of powder coating done!!

Theres usually quite a lot of places in the local industrial estates that do it so shouldn't have too much trouble finding someone to do it.

Prices can vary from £40 to over £100 or more if they have to order your colour in but most should have a reasonable selection in stock to choose from.

Some may not be able to strip the standard stern black so easiest to find one who will sort that for you as part of the job.

Happy to answer any more qus or provide more info. Used to go for gloss but think matt looks good too.

Good luck
Cheers
Greg

https://www.yell.com/biz/mb-finishings-cheltenham-8177088/ this guy did mine. As others have said they’re kinda two-a-penny but several people have remarked on the work he did for me. He does classic car parts and custom bike bits so he’s perhaps more of an artist. I can definitely recommend. Did a whole machine in two finishes (satin and crinkle) for £80

Expect you’ll want someone nearby though. When you start ringing around you’ll get a feel for it.

Can't agree more on the Stern Black there Greg - mine's been a pig to get off and still not finished - along with the blue wire forms - even after 20+ years

Thanks for all the info, I have found a local place that can do it but have to get them blasted first, so have decided to get spare set of metal parts first and then every time I get a new pin I will have a spare set which I can get done.

Looks lovely! Did you pack them up and send off?

No its only a hour drive and was nice to see the setup they have, but next time I might just sent them, I send a lot of stuff with parcel to go and most parcels upto 20kg are around £10
I will do all the pins I get as makes such a difference

Thanks guys, its almost finished now, just waiting on the speaker light kit and inserts then thats it, I spent about a grand on it which I expect will never get back , but it really does look like a new pin now.
