Morning everyone, has anyone tried the pinball protectors products ( they are based in Germany) I have ordered one for my Centaur so interested in anyone else’s experience ( I will post pics if anyone interested and report back)

Andrew

One thing to note with these is that as they get thinner PETG plastic gets more affected by heat and humidity.

Make sure any inserts under the protector are LED'd, especially any that stay on for a long time. Also don't be alarmed if you start to see what looks like bubbles under the protector. This is an optical illusion occuring where the protector is making perfect contact with the playfield. Over time these may increase in number and eventually all join together as the protector relaxes and sits down on the playfield. It may be plastic but it's alive Jim

I've got one on my ES and I think it is great. Doesn't affect the gameplay, and protects the new insert decals that have been put on. It also levels out the slight raised surfaces of the replacement decals so that they are not noticeable. And it gives the playfield a good shiney finish. Wish the playfield had had one earlier to prevent the existing wear from having happened!

Thanks looking forward to fitting it to my Centaur

After just having my playfield restored with Uber coats of clear coat, would it be advisable for me to get one?

Sent via my phone and Still looking for a working but inexpensive TWD....[emoji57]

I’d say no. Not in the home. I’d recommend them more for system 11 era or anything pre diamond plate.

Use these on TRON & Congo. Plus soon to be on TZ and RS. the newer ones are 50% thinner than the initial batches, and are laser cut so don't have the slightly 'bitty' edges that look like Edward Scissor Hands cut them.

Particularly handy on playfields with uneven inserts.

What happens with air bubbles or - God forbid - dust or hairs?

I already stress out fitting screen protectors to phones :p

They’re not airtight, just surface laid. Dust eventually gets in, but it takes a while. Clean before you fit it!

I fitted one to the TAF that made its way to TILT. Not sure if it’s still fitted, but maybe go and see that. That was the older thicker version. It was a lovely/worthy playfield to keep covered.

Sorry pics a bit average, strip light in garage. If anyone would like better ones let me know and I will crack out the very under used slr

Sorry here they are
