I don’t think there is any easy way to remove it unless you buy new

Pulling a Stanley knife towards yourself is risky but I used that for the tape closest to the edge then a longer box cutter knife for the deeper bit, seemed pretty easy tbh. Other than the stab wounds to my chest.
