Hey,

So I’ve had some new Rom chips sitting around while I spent more time tw@tting about with my Baywatch than actually playing it.

I’m now keen to fire up chads new code and see how much worse it makes my high score capability.

But I have two Rom chips:
1. CPU - fairly self explanatory
2. Display - this is where I need help

On my display board, I have two Rom chips. Which one do I swap out?

Pictures of the new roms, the CPU and the display board...

...any ideas which display Rom to swap? Thanks guys

While this CPU patch does not make any changes to the DISPLAY ROMs, you want to make sure your game is running DISPLAY VERSION 4.00 for proper game functionality. You can verify this by checking the very first screen that is displayed when you power on your game.

So looks like you don’t need to do anything... maybe?

Thanks Paul,

Weirdly I’m running 4.02 already, although I believe this is stock code.

Seems like chad must have thought 4.00 was the latest version as his code is labelled 4.01 so I’d be downgrading in order to upgrade [emoji848]

So I’m unclear still - will the 4.01 CPU Rom work with display Rom 4.00 ‘or greater’, or does it need 4.00 ‘exactly’?

Is there a risk in just plugging it in and seeing if it works?

Thanks for the info [emoji106]

It will be fine
