This was a wood-up restoration a few years back and been in my collection ever since apart from 2 or 3 excursions to pinball shows. Playfield is original although still in very nice condition, cab and b/box did have new decals and it was painted inside and out, lock down bar and side rails polished and all play field mech's refurbed. Only mods are an LED bar along the backboard and facia lights added which are interactive with the software ( Mark Squires) Only downside is a small amount of crinkle around the left frot leg. Fully working and a real looker. Prefer buyer to come and play before purchase. Cash and Aylesbury pick up only

Thanks for looking

Hi,

Were the coils for the jet bumpers and locking pin reversed from the factory fitment (i.e. with the terminals away from the coil stop end) when you got it? That was one change I always made, even before wiping out a slingshot coil on the top of the cabinet when sliding a Getaway playfield forward

And if you'll pardon a little flippancy, "What kind of car is that, visible in the final picture?"

@Jay Walker - I did not think about the coil direction on pop bumpers - I always do them the same way as Dave's machine. However looking at the getaway manual they are reversed! i thought the proper way was the way shown on this game. I guess it doesnt really matter. Be one of those pinside debates that will last 4 years....

Yes, it's mostly personal preference, with the only technical factor I'm aware of being the distance of the soldered terminals from the impact of the coil stop. It amused me that Williams changed the placement of the flipper coils to have the terminals away from the stop end (putting a cut-out in the support bracket - 3 for some cases like Black Knight 2000) but had every other solenoid lying stop-end wise. I wonder if this was for ease of assembly; in the early solid-state games like FirePower, the bumper coils were 'away', even though the notorious 'Special' actuating/scoring switches were involved, and lay quite close by with the coil fitted that way. But back then the wiring was attached directly to the playfield, rather than to the stand-off brackets seen on more modern games

What a beauty!
No, that's Fish Tales, isn't it?
