Hi Having problems with both flippers on NBA,
when buttons pressed they flip up no problem, but struggle to come back down or until power is turned off.
Any help please.

Thankyou

You have to see if it is mechanical or electronic.
By the sound of it - I would guess mechanical.....

Best thing to do is remove glass. Then put back on the lockdown bar (and close door).

Start a game - press either flipper and then with your finger press it down.

You will feel resistance from the powered coil if it is electronic.

If it is mechanical - rebuild the flippers properly. Pinball Heaven do a kit. Make sure also the game is right between the playfield and the bottom of flipper as some people when rebuilding flippers make this too tight.

Make sure the spring is on it flipper assembly underneath.

Use this for reference - but most of us consider this coil is the wrong way round :)

In fact.

I am not sure if it is mechanical as when the machine is powered off they drop down.

Probably the driver transistor then.

Is it NBA stern or NBA fast break?
Often people say NBA and mean fastbreak

If they go down when you turn off the power then it is a transistor or mosfet stuck.

Would advise to change to coils too.

It is very strange if BOTH of the flippers do that

Turn the machine on, start again - DO NOT PRESS FLIPPER BUTTONS. Close coin door.

Move the flipper bats up manually - if you feel the magnetic field 'click' and hold the flipper up it is circuit board issues.

As David said - you need to tell us if its Stern or Bally/Williams.
