Fish tales

This is the one I'll be selling for 4k.

Screenshot_20211102-193020_Photos.jpg

Chrome armour, brand new playfield, new plastics, redecalled, colour pin2dmd, mods etc. 100 percent refurbed no corners cut.

That's a 1.2k price differential, but the parts and work difference is likely twice that. If you plan on playing this one and enjoying it, great - you'll have a blast and get your money back when you sell. However, if you are looking to have all the bells and whistles, there's probably more costs effective ways to go about it.

Pretty sure that @s000m went to see this machine up close. The re-decal job was poor, maybe he can shed more light

Think it’s just got wrinkly decals around the legs which can happen when the metal protectors aren’t fitted.
Did notice on that video that the ball when launched wasn’t going around to the left flipper.

Got to love Fish Tales, had mine for 12 years now and the cab went to Manny.

What’s Manny?

Yeah, the plunge went around to the ‘lie lanes’, which PAPA considers a fault on the machine. It should come down the left orbit. It’s possible that the gate that lets the ball down the left orbit is faulty - this is, apparently, a common fault on Fish Tales (and renders the machine unsuitable for serious play until fixed).

If you watch my video, you’ll see me make a ‘long cast’ shot - that’s not possible to make if the gate is jammed.

Good spot. That'll be down to the plunger solenoid then, if that's not dead level it removes all the power from the plunge.

Isn't there a gate that is supposed to open just above the left pop bumper to let it go around to the left flipper?

What’s Manny?
Manny was a guy on the south coast that did high end restorations, did some really nice work. I stripped mine and took the cab to him, can’t fault it. Have others by him but he doesn’t do it anymore. That CV in the pic was on another level and one of his, now at Williams Amusements for sale at a bit more than what I sold it to them for😬

If you want it buy it. Can always sell it on and seems to be around the right price😊

I missed out on the AFM today by a couple minutes because I was being indecisive 😑

If it's still got incandescents, it's no issue. Some people prefer them! And you'll get all the great dimming effects in the GI.
An led job isn't that expensive and you can decide later.
The other issues are probably little things that are tweaks or simple fixes.

Unless that decal job is really that bad as someone said

I'm sure that will be the Fish Topper, without a dome it's much louder. Could be wrong though.

Vee, the fish is loud enough with the dome on. At the time, locations asked for it to be disabled. I think it was actually 'Manny' that I mentioned once, listing an incredibly restored Whitewater, which nevertheless had (hopefully) the normal error dot.

Looks like he's pulled it. Probably got an offer outside of eBay.

I see you lurking @stumblor . . . . pacing the riverbank waiting for someone to break from the shoal and head for your shiny lure.

You probably need to charge your phone too mate. . . you'll have mail soon.

haha.. just trying to work out the perfect fishing metaphor mate!! (and failing)

Already had a bunch of PMs about it, which is fantastic and shows that the market is strong for super mint pins. I really enjoy the refurb part of the hobby, so it reassuring to know that I can still go bananas on the job and the end result will be appreciated and find a good home.

Couple of bits left to dial in but once that is done i'll post the full porn-o-riffic details.

It’ll be a great oppor-tuna-ity for someone. Any fin is possible with these restorations just don’t trout yourself

@stumblor whats next off your production line after this fishtales?

He'll be in high demand now mate, he's made a rod for his own back and will have to up scale his operation. I don't mind paying an extra few squid for a good machine if it saves trawling around ebay.

Dunno yet mate, it's either going to be Diner, Funhouse or Radical.

Leaning toward Diner currently. I love that game and haven't been around it for a while so I miss it. Plus I have all the bits ready to go so so that makes it easier.

Mind you, I can also get new radical playfields now and that game is insanely fun.
