Diner back box flashers

In the back box there is a vertical line of big cement resistors. Check if one of them is out of spec. They usually look horrible and crumbly, but it may not be the crumbliest which is faulty. It’s hard to see from the manual which resistor is connected to which flasher or flashers, so when I had a similar problem I checked them all and found one which had zero resistance. I got a new one on eBay for pennies.
Ok thanks iv got to the bottom of it ( loose connection) but as they are incondecent they are poor. If I change them to LEDs am I going to cause problems, the GIs are all ready LEDs just wondering if the flashers have been left for a specific reason. ?
No, won't cause an issue. Some people prefer flashers to be incandescents for cosmetic reasons.
You can get different types of white too to see what's best - warm, cool, sunlight etc and I think you can even get ones that replicate the look of incandescents.
I always use Comets. @David retro of Retro Arcade Specialists has most of these in stock. Buy some as a sample and see which you prefer.

As mentioned above if your on the fence to change or not order a couple and see if they are too bright but there are also various types the most popular is the 8 smd flashers some choose to colour code them or can simply add white in various shades
