Complete Demolished Man!! - A painful and very slow shop log!

With a 30mm gap, I'm sure you can come up with some ingenious way of linking the the two sheds via double doors, say? Close em, 2 sheds. Open em, 1 shed. ;)

And yes, shed logs (shed porn) are all the rage these days. Do it! :D
the real problem is pete how do you put sides on a shed when they are only 30mm apart - totally impractical really!!! not a chance of boarding and putting the loglap on before you build it as too heavy so realistic gap will be 18 inches

Cheers

Kev

Hmm I see your problem. Is there no way to prefabricate the sides in sections which can then be joined together from the inside?

Yeah dan!!! bought a gallon of orthophosphoric acid for descaling and is also very good at removing rust!!
Fizzy drinks contain tons of phosphoric acid to give them flavour. If anyone can't get hold of the chemical in it's pure form, drop the rusty part in a bowl of Coke and it should remove the rust.

Wow I have surprised myself!!! missing doing the resto work so much I thought I would have a quick scan through this from being to end. I can't believe what heap of dung this was at the start!!! and they say you can't polish a turd eh!!!!!

Shed build begins next month - a lot of ground work to do first but I hope it will fly up after that.

Watch this space guys!!

Just thought I would remind you as its getting near 8bitflip and the bar will be open!!!:D
Actually @Big Phil you have reminded me of a little favour you could do for me. As the cab I am waiting for has been somewhat delayed I may have to resort to use the TZ cab I have it in at the moment. Prob is I will need to route it out for the handle placements. do you think at some point (and no rush) that you could pop a handle off and photograph the cab on both sides, and measure from front and top of cab where the routing needs to be done???;)

Why don't you and Matt pop up to play my new machines? You can then take as many measurements as you like :)

its time at the moment Phil. Matt is working nearly every weekend and I'm still battling the new house so I can get on with pinshed!! just no spare time at the moment. One day will certainly have a pop through though.

Plus you do need to remove handle to photograph it as the inside is inlayed in the cab(I think it is just the inside but need to check)

How cost effective has it been? Looked pretty bad.
well I only paid £500 for it but not sure what I have spent on it - I will be pushing it out for about £1500-1600 when I sell it. But in terms of hundreds of hours you never get you money back, just for the love of saving one machine to hopefully last another 20 years.

Kool. I quite fancy trying something like this. If it comes up but for me to keep. I'm pretty God at fixing this. 500 quid seems kinda reasonable.

This thing needs to be in a bloody pinball hall of fame by the time you're done Kev!!

Well it'[s been a while since we moved house and I had a pinshack to build. Now that is finished the work has begun on turning this TZ cab into a DM cab. Need some help here fellas. Can someone actually take pics of the handle placements where it is routed out in the cabinets with exact measurements on it please so I can do these on this TZ cab. More pics and measurements the better.

Thanks in advance guys.

Good Mate of mine has a DM and he lives in Boro. He's a great lad and it would be no problem for you to pop over with your tape measure and camera and take some measurements.

Kev,

You can pop up to mine and have a look first hand if you want. Take some measurements. Oh, and also play my pins :)

Shame yours wasn't ready for UKPinfest. Good entry for Best in Show!

Ok started on the cab now - stripped decals and got it half sanded last night. This is just the first sand with 60 grit to get the glue off. You can see there is a fair bit of filling to do !!!

@Big Phil I have come up with an idea to fit the handles to this cab for the DM. If you could do me a big favour and just take your lockdown bar off, then measure from the front edge of the cab up to the start (front edge) of the handle on the cab that should suffice.

This was your old TZ cab @Matt Vince

It may have been well faded, but at least it seems solid!
Sure is @Matt Vince, had to glue and pin the front corners, which is standard issue to be honest. Once I finish sanding it all (including the bottom, which does make it look new) it will look good as new!

Mine is behind a few machines in the garage folded up. Can anyone else help Kev? Anyone got one setup at home?

Great to see this shop up and running again:thumbs: My orbital sander bust mid cab restore over the Summer - what are you using newdos?
