Hi
I have for sale a Creature From The Black Lagoon that was stored in a barn (Yes I know most people don't believe in barn finds but this really was!). It does need a bit of work doing to it but I know what these machines are worth fully restored. I would like it to go to someone who would be able to do a good job with it. I was originally going to gut this and make a vpin but I got shouted at for doing this. I am willing to trade for a vpin also but I have put for sale on this post.

So what are the problems?
To be honest not too much is wrong with it. It does boot up but the DMD display no longer works although it did on the first boot but then cut out. I am 90% sure its a fuse that I have found on the DMD board which I am going to replace. It will cycle through the settings because you can hear and select menu settings but obviously cant see it.

There are a few plastics missing but I have seen these for sale else where for around £40 for the set.
Both glasses are in tact but not shown in the images. The translite seems to have been replaced with a white Perspex one with the Lloyds bank logo on.

Overall apart from the missing plastics, artwork and some cleaning up everything seems to work. The circuit boards look like new and all the connections seem fine.
I have tried to take as many photos as I could but if there is anything that I have not taken a picture of then please ask.
Location is North Cornwall - Devon Border.

I am new to this forum but I was sent here as I was told this was the best place to sell this. If I have made a mistake in the layout of this post please let me know.

I am willing to take offers but I would like around £2k. I know its worth double this restored and I don't think it would cost too much to do.

Welcome aboard mate. Thanks for signing up. It is indeed the best place to trade this. I’m sure you’ll get the right deal

Interesting - looks like at some point it has had some weird bank/estate agent retheme ....those playfield signs ....:hmm:

Is the entire cabinet painted white ??
The cabinet was sprayed a ****ty light green so will need a light sand down. I cant see any of the old art work underneath.

Again.. you have to look at the money you need to pump into this to restore it.
-new hologram
-cabinet decals
-plastic set
- dmd

And that's just what we know about.
Everyone's different but a full restoration that will fetch 4k is going to have to be a minter.
I'm talking about perfect ramps. Fully restored playfield. Then you have your own time put into it ( i never add my own labour time when considerng value as it's a hobby ).
Would be interesting to see what this was picked up for seeing as though it was found in a barn.
This is not a post about price .:)

Good luck with the sale

Would have been better asking for a valuation on this one! As we have seen in another sale thread and also applies here the cost to restore with that pricing would be more than it's value!

Pretty sure the DMD is just the fuse

Probably the worst thing you could have ever said. Sale just went from hero to zero.

It won't be a fuse as you have power to it, try re-seating the cable. Looks like it's been stored in a damp place too?

Can't seem to view your video either, permissions?

Now that is a project pin, decent money and time needed to spent to get this into decent shape. Value is subjective, I think you are more likely to sell and get a market price on ebay with an honest description, none of this nonsense, it's maybe a fuse. Good luck with sale, get in on eBay

This needs a LOT of work, it's suffering epic corrosion, I wouldn't normally comment on price, but as previously suggested you should have asked for a value prior to listing to give you a better idea. Personally, I suggest you stick it on eBay with a 99p start and see where it goes, I would suggest a nutter will pay around £1k (realistically it's worth no more than £750). Anyone who wants a machine for fun and as a project would be interested but anyone who wants a minter would just pay the £3k it would cost to get one of those, this one will eat money. Also, I'll buy all the full sets of plastics you can get at £40

Nice project for someone. You can see it would have been quite a decent machine if it hadn't been kept in those conditions. Has the cabinet been painted due to woodworm or to keep the water out ?

Got to say I love my Creech. Fantastic artwork and unique playfield make this a great pin to own. But what a real shame. Hate seeing pins like this.

I don't like commenting on sales threads but you'd be lucky to get 1k.

I do like a project and I would be tempted, however even this one does look too much for me. I think it would benefit from new ramps as well based on the video. Real shame as I have always wanted a creech. I think Fleabay may be your best bet, but be realistic with a starting bid and see what you get. Dare I say it, someone may buy if for parts.
