IMG_5434.JPG IMG_5435.JPG IMG_5436.JPG Ok on to the playfield I took both options I had bought a new playfield and sent the original one for restoration by chris platt
Chris has done an absolute cracking job on the restoration the clear coat is better and flatter than the new one
But side by side the new on just looks so much more vibrant you don't realise just how much the colours fade over the years so I am going to go with the new one

IMG_5440.JPG IMG_5441.JPG Then ball guides these can be a little tricky if the clear coat has filled up the holes I sometimes have to drill the holes out in this case it was perfect and the holes where all in the correct places

IMG_5444.JPG IMG_5445.JPG Playfield sides and back these never fit spot on and I normally end up re drilling the hole this one again pretty good only 3 holes to drill I also counter sunk the holes just looks much neater hey presto a perfect playfield side fitting lovely and flush

IMG_5447.JPG IMG_5448.JPG IMG_5449.JPG IMG_5450.JPG On to re posting the playfield again another little tricky job due to the clear coat filling the holes the posts won't fit particularly the ones that are tapered if you force them in with a hammer you will almost certainly damage the playfield I have found the best way is to buy a good set of precision drills and slow go up 0.1mm at a time if you go too much you will break the clear from the print or worse take a chunk of of print off down to wood

Or as more often the case, they just didn't get the colours right on the new one.

Either way not worth grumbling about, they both look beautiful.

I am guessing one of these..??

I use one on occasion, and they do bring the Guide rails up nicely Mirror shiney!

I find I can't get a good shine on ball guides using the buffer alone. Usually wet sand them first for a few minutes with 800 and then move up to 1500. After that you can get a nice mirror shine easily with the buffing wheel.

Pinball porn, I really don't like white rubbers tho maybe that's just me
Original flyer shows white, but as this isn't a purists restoration I wonder if some of those new sexy silicone translucent rubbers would look the business?

Chris, what's your process for getting the guides so shinny please?
Maybe I misunderstood but I thought @chris b sent all the metalwork off to the platers? New chrome is the ultimate shine job!

IMG_5459.JPG IMG_5460.JPG IMG_5461.JPG Came across my first real problem today with the playfield it's pretty normal for a lot of the dimples to not be spot on or missing but on this one it has a bulb hole missing not that much of a problem but just drilled it out

titan's are fantastic, great bounce, way better than superbands. Only downside is the purple colour is a little too lilac.

Rebuild looks epic Chris - will be be the NLP show machine? :)
