    Energy prices - gone nuts.

We've always been considered high electricity users due to the Hot Tub and the amount of electronics and gadgets we run. Thank god i'm on a fixed rate until the end of February 2022. Will be interesting to see if the market has improved any by then. I'll be keeping a close eye on things over...

    Northern Lights Pinball Show 2020

I'm already signed up to the mailing list but I don't seem to have received anything via e-mail confirming what the 10% discount code is. Could someone help me out please? (Only e-mail i've got is the one for last years show - i'm presuming the code has changed?)

    Target Foam Issues

It's target foam I got from Pinballmania. As it turns out i've fixed the issue. It took a lot of messing about but I managed to use the adjustment tool to get all of the targets just right. The yellow BOMB target was playing up because the foam had come off the metal post so it was fouling...

    Target Foam Issues

Hi, Whilst play testing Rocky & Bullwinkle tonight i've noticed that a number of the stand up targets are really really hard to register. So much so that in some respects the game feels almost unplayable. The main culprits are the three hat trick targets and the B-O-M-B targets. I've tried...

    Flipper Issue Advice

Any advice on checking the outputs from the flipper board? The schematic shows 9VAC on pins 6 and 7 on connector CN2 on the flipper board. Should this always be present? Also shows 50 VDC on 8 and 9. If these should always be present is it worth checking with a meter?

    Flipper Issue Advice

Pretty sure I replaced the fuse holders on mine but might well be worth me stripping the board out tonight and going over it. I've ordered a VUK kit because i'm pretty sure the slop on the VUK cap is the cause of the issue. It will work flawlessly for a while and then after i've had the...

Did it with the glass off and my phone resting on the playfield.

    Flipper Issue Advice

I just checked the level on the pin and found it was well under 6 degrees from front to back. So that might explain the 'tardy' ball in the out lane. I've put the rear legs almost up to the max and it still only shows as being at 6 degrees (using an app on my mobile). What's the optimum angle...

    Flipper Issue Advice

Hi everyone, Long time, no see. :) I moved house a little over a year ago and since then Pinball has been pushed down the list of priorities. It's meant that poor old Rocky & Bullwinkle has been languishing in the garage with no love. It's all back together and playable. I've just spent an...

    Play Expo Manchester May 4th 5th 2019

Good luck with the show in October. I had hoped to make it along because fostering means that I can typically only get to one show per year. Alas this time around it coincides with some especially challenging situations at home which mean i'm going to have to miss it. I'm already signed up...

Pinball Arcade and the Bally Williams License

I guess it's just a bit weird given todays digital distribution systems. In the old days we'd have all bought the full boxed product with all the tables included and had it forever. Nowadays the nature of digital content means it's common to defer a purchase over a longer period of time and...

Pinball Arcade and the Bally Williams License

The Zen Pinball engine seems to be the better of the two in my opinion, but it's obviously easier to simulate pinball machines that don't exist in the real world. I'll be very interested to see how it plays. I really do love Pinball FX3 and the previous outings so it could turn out to be a...

Pinball Arcade and the Bally Williams License

So, it looks like we now know where the Bally Williams license went when Pinball Arcade lost it. https://www.gameinformer.com/2018/09/04/licensed-williams-bally-tables-coming-to-pinball-fx3 Tables coming in the future to Pinball FX3. It's going to take them some time to get the sheer number...

    Full body workout

I find it hard enough to just control my fingers when playing, so no chance of any dancing mid-game for me. It is pretty interesting to watch peoples method of playing. There are a few guys over in Denmark who insist on wearing headphones so they can listen to their choice of audio whilst...

    Homepin Pinball Presents: > 5....

I've been following Mikes work at Homepin via Facebook and it's pretty clear that doing anything in China is far from easy. Even things we take for granted like access to Facebook are harder to do in China so the fact he's managed to put a factory together, design a machine, build it (and many...

In Progress Rocky & Bullwinkle Shop Log

Hi everyone - yep - I am alive and well despite not being around for ages. We've had lots going on at work and some 'fun' with our foster daughter. Add into that the mixture of holidays and moving house and you can imagine how busy things have been. The good news is that we're now at a new...

    Very tight PDI glass

Wooaoaaahh, thread necromancy warning. I just wanted to add that I found this issue with my Rocky & Bullwinkle when I came to fit the new Roman glass. I tried polishing up the glass channels with both Novus 1 and Pledge, but ultimately the solution was to run something with a bit of girth...

    Upcoming upgrades/GDPR

This pretty much sums up my feelings on GDPR. And yes, like most other people i've had it pretty much constantly for the last few months. We've been going through it at work so the latest influx of a billion mails all asking me to agree let them store my details was really welcome.

    Play Expo Manchester May 4th 5th 2019

Interested in going but not a huge fan of the change of dates. October always worked pretty well for me but I can see this clashing with a shedload of other stuff that we'll most likely have going on at home. Oh well, guess we'll see.
