Sadly the time has come to sell my Baywatch.
See ‘Baywatch refurb’ in Shop Logs.
It’s scheduled to go on eBay with a £2800 BIN on Sunday but would rather sell to someone on here and will make a donation if it goes. If I get a sensible offer, I’ll probably take it.
Thanks again to all you...
Hey,
So I’ve had some new Rom chips sitting around while I spent more time tw@tting about with my Baywatch than actually playing it.
I’m now keen to fire up chads new code and see how much worse it makes my high score capability.
But I have two Rom chips:
1. CPU - fairly self explanatory...
I’m getting annoyed with a bug in the Baywatch software and am thinking it’d be nice to get a copy of chads new code running.
Does anyone on here offer a Rom burning service?
A few others on here may be interested if they’ve not already upgraded - he seems to have fixed bugs rather than...
Wondering if any of you guys have machines out there in pubs, or elsewhere?
I know there are a few in Birmingham and London, possibly Bristol.
Any ideas on what sort of takings they’ll get in an average week?
There’s a pub near me that’s crying out for one (at least) and I’m toying with the...
This is what I pulled out of my stocking at Christmas and I’m finally getting around to looking at it.
The manual is in Chinglish so might as well go in the bin.
I think I need:
1. Some sort of paint starter set that comes with some colours I can mix - people mentioned The Range?
2. A...
Hi all,
After shopping my Sega Baywatch (still a couple of weeks away from getting a working DMD) the only way I can get it to play is to pull out the cheat/interlock switch to engage the high power on the play field.
I’m pretty sure there will be some message on the screen telling me to...
I’ll update this *original post* below, as and when people request changes in the thread.
Aims to be an impartial view of the products themselves, based on knowledge shared in the thread.
1. Dr Pinball LCD DMD (DIY kit)
Use @DrPinball ‘s board (and software) purchased from his website, and...
I got the wires back to front on the upper VUK (earthquake) coil.
This blew F5. I realised what I’d done and corrected it.
Bear in mind I don’t have a dmd currently so can’t see any messages.
1. I fired the machine up and pulled out the upper coin door switch in order to get a test game to...
These guys have been really helpful:
http://www.gaterosplating.co.uk
They do:
- Black cold oxide dip for re-blacking coach bolts
- Brush plating kits for diy plating any kind of metal
- Cadmium dip for putting the yellow protective layer back over zinc parts

Anyone know a definitive guide to the screw sizes used in pinball machines?
Specifically I need to know the size for the flipper switches used on DE/Sega machines. The cabinet leg bolt receivers are held in place by these. They are the same spec as the flipper switch ones, just shorter but I’ll...
Trying to determine the original plating used on my Baywatch ramps.
I have seen conflicting views.
Does anyone know for certain? Keen to replace like-for-like.
Some people saying they think it’s gold plated. Others saying it’s zinc plated and then dipped in a cadmium yellow passivate (like...
Just stripping the loom out of the cabinet on a Baywatch and found this unused connector - anyone know what it’s for?
Wires are black and white.

Thought I’d start this thread as a place for people to leave comments about tools they have bought or are thinking about buying.

So I got bored while my DMD was being fixed and started pulling bits off the machine. I’m now knee deep in a refurb.
Before I go any further, I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me get this far, especially @pinballmania @Sgt GrizZ and @RobZombie
First thing I did was play the game to...
Got your attention!
So when I got my Baywatch the knocker had been removed.
People said the operators would cannibalise them to replace other parts.
I’ve had the knocker delivered. The end of the plunger looks concave. The plunger on my ball launch is convex.
I was gonna swap them over...
Anyone know of a paint / technique for touching in that Matt black ‘crinkle’ finish on legs and side rails etc?
Mine are a bit chipped and scuffed in places but don’t fancy buying new, powder coating or spraying them from scratch unless I can help it.

Anyone got a half decent coin door they lying around.
This is mine.
If I can’t get one i will probably resort to beating it back into shape, filling it and spraying it with hammerite. But that’s a lot of work.
