I finally got around to watching this documentary. It was fantastic overall but funny thing about the Robocop pinball - they must have lifted the machine footage directly off of my YouTube channel without ever contacting me and what is also strange is that particular video has been set to...
There's some old vintage 35mm camera lenses you can buy on eBay for a fiver (or tenner thanks to inflation) which are radioactive, usually the 1970's soviet ones although I think some Japanese ones are too.
Google is your friend. Have fun.
Stay clear. It's cheap, consumer grade crap. Basically just a toy. I've seen hologram prints and they are always low resolution, and lack the brightness you get from a proper laser-exposed holographic film.
There's also the issue that the maximum print size of those particular machines is 4x5...
Yeah I don't think any model exists. Would have to hire a professional sculptor to make an accurate model to then make the holograms, all adding to the costs.
I have long thought about producing a like-for-like original hologram for Creech but unfortunately no longer have one to get it absolutely right. Plus they would be very expensive (£300+ each). Real holograms, created by laser are notoriously difficult to make especially these days. In the 80's...
The wealth inequality gap in the US is one of the largest you will find but that mostly comes down to the amount of billionaires, tech companies with massive salaries etc. The average earnings and deposable income is actually much higher than the UK. Aside from healthcare/medical expenses the...
Well that's certainly true, yes, but all of the data sources I see to form my opinions on this stuff actually come from the US market. Really, the entire pinball market is pretty much the same in every country - demographics, age, education, income, split of men vs women etc - it's just that the...
Economics does play a big part in all of this. Will there be a few wealthy Millennials in 10-15 years with big enough houses and a desire to buy a few pins? Of course, but nothing like numbers we've seen previously.
Would agree Film photography and Vinyl records are another niche hobby that...
Interesting that people are having these conversations now. I remember bringing up this exact point about 10 years ago and was quickly shot down by naysayers who couldn't possibly imagine a scenario where their favourite toys would fall from popularity.
Here's when it will end - when Gen X...
Would agree it's nowhere near as good as the real thing but it does serve to scratch the itch if you don't have space or money to buy a lot of pins, or the time to maintain them all. Also gives a good opportunity to learn the rules and features of unobtanium games, or those you want to try out...
I've worked at Glastonbury a few times back when I used to work in the events industry. Music was always good, well some of it anyway depending on personal tastes.
But regarding hypocrites I just saw some video clips of speeches a few people made, calling for open borders getting the crowd to...
Do the hypocrite hippy loons who go to Glastonbury actually take an interest in pinball? Seems like something they would just pass by with no interest... or throw cans of soup at.
No I mean the disclaimer message that pops up is stop cancelled orders when products are made on-demand.
Why they stopped UK orders I don't know, can only speculate but according to other posts above they now accept UK orders?
Do you mean like the Pin Hoods that Retro Refurbs sells? Or something else?
They seem to have a nice collection - https://www.retrorefurbs.com/shop-cat/playfield-pinhoods/
Haha that's actually brilliant.
Nothing to do with copyright, it's to stop people placing orders and then cancelling them when a deal falls through on a game they're buying/selling. Happened all the time when I was running it and p!ssed me off more than anything. The amount of money wasted on...
Just FYI - Retro Refurbs is indeed located in London now. The phone number still uses the 0191 area code because it's a forwarding number to the business line. IF you do see a North East/Sunderland address advertised anywhere, then let them know about it so it can be removed. It's not a bother...
It's absolute crap. Just spews out rewritten garbage its picked up from the internet when it was allowed to crawl. Always full of incorrect information and there's absolutely no thinking or "intelligence" ability about it so be careful how you're using it.
Start asking it things like "can a...
Indeed that is my creation. However as I sold all my rights to the artworks me and the team made when I sold Retro Refurbs, it's up to the new owners if they have an issue so zero f*cks given from me.
I will say though it's one thing to restore and recreate artwork that wasn't available for...
